Capturing a winter wedding in Winnipeg, is always an adventure, especially when the groom loves hockey!!! We started out the day at Nirvana Salon at the corner of St. Mary’s Rd and Provencher. Jessica was beaming her amazing smile and was surrounded by her dearest friends and family who were equally as happy for this day! Being close so close to Christmas, I feel as though the air, though VERY cold that day, was filled with this crazy euphoric warmth too. Totally contagious!! The ease of the day transferred right on over to the Turenne’s family home. There Jessica continued getting ready while her Mom and Dad, prepared a bite to eat before the nuptials later that day. Once Jessica put on her dress…well…she left everyone breathless and quite smily glowed! Justin was going to be floored by her beauty!
Walking into Justin and Jessica’s newly purchased home, that awesome energy that had been with us all morning, had followed us! The guys were all smiles and were ready for their close up too! All of us were looking forward to the quick game of street hockey Justin and his crew were itching to play regardless what Old Man Winter was dishing out that day! Once Justin had finished getting ready, it was game time!!!!! Before heading over to the church, the guys grabbed their sticks and head outside. The game started immediately and thought it was f-f-f-reeezing out, the guys were ALL smiles 🙂
When we arrived at St.Bernadette Church, everyone was excited to see this couple walk down the isle. The catholic ceremony was so sweet…smiles were everywhere! Loved it!!! After a few family photos, we headed over to Level 3 Studios since winter in Winnipeg was rearing it’s very cold & windy head! HAHA! We should be used to this by now, since we were born and raised here, but I gotta say it’s so funny that still surprised EVERYONE (Brock and myself included) when it’s cold outside in winter!!! There we captured some wicked photos of this gorgeous couple. Although, it was cold out, Jessica & Justin had such a wicked crew who were willing to brave the cold without a jacket mind you, to get a cool shot! You’ll notice that there wasn’t a lot of snow but literally, in the days before the wedding, it had been so warm that the snow actually had melted…a lot! Then, in true Winnipeg fashion a mini- deep freeze took over! That wasn’t enough to stop us OR this crew and lucky for everyone, we nailed the shot asap and everyone hopped back into the limo for drinks, hor d’oeuvre, dinner, & dancing – a.k.a. the reception.
Once we arrived at Four Points Sheraton, the room that Madeline’s Weddings & Events had prepared looked as usual, flawless! What can I say about the reception? It was a memorable night and filled with real laughs, bitter-sweet tears, and fabulous dancing!! Jessica & Justin, Brock and I wish you nothing but the very best in your new adventure called marriage and couldn’t feel more privileged to have been selected to capture your gorgeous day!
