Wedding Photographers in Winnipeg have to deal with all kinds of weather and be willing to brave the elements, especially for winter weddings in Winnipeg. The weather on Courtenay & Dave’s wedding day did challenge us but like always, we were up for it! We started out over at Sets on Fort St. which is now Salon One Eleven, in downtown Winnipeg. As always, the staff there were amazing and made it easy for the ladies to “git derr hurr did!” 🙂 Love some of the shots we captured here and it was just the first half hour into the day! ALWAYS makes me excited for the rest of the day ^_^

We soon met up with Dave who had his crew along with Courtenay’s dad over to relax before the main event of the day. Something about capturing time with your best friends before one makes an important and momentous life decision. I swear it allows you to reflect on time spent with the very best people in your life and looking at photos can remind you that regardless of the amazing decisions and occasions that happen in your life, you will always have good times with awesome friends then, now, and in the future!

Once everyone was ready to head out the the ceremony /reception location, the rest of the day was spent out at Bridges Golf Course . To get out there was a wee bit nerve racking since snow drifts had built up from the previous day’s blizzard conditions which had crazy winds that carried through to the wedding day. Yikes!! Nonetheless, we pushed on and everyone made it out pretty much ok, aside from a couple of adventures into the ditch! No worries though, everyone was ok!!!

Everyone was excited for the ceremony which was really touching and had that element of random laughter that made it extra memorable! Though it would have been awesome to get outside at the golf course, the weather had other planned which kept us inside. So what do you do when you have lemons? Make lemonade of course! We captured some truly romantic moments and tried to bring the outdoors in with the amazing Winnipeg sunset that us wedding photographers LOVE to capture on wedding days. After some quiet time for the bride and the groom, it was time for the reception. Courtenay & Dave’s first dance song, was truly one of the most beautiful songs ever written and also, one of my absolute favourite songs! Northern Wind by City and Colour.

The rest of the evening was filled with lights, love, laughs, and hugs….everything a wedding should be. Courtenay and Dave, THANK YOU…we loved being a part of your amazing day and are reminded how lucky we are to be a part of this industry.
