Our day began early as we headed over to meet the groom. High and bright the sun shone in the clear blue skies and like clock-work, my nervous excitement kicked in while driving to our first location. Eric, who is a strong but silent type by nature, was a bit nervous when we arrived, so we quickly set him at ease so he could enjoy this part of the day too! Once we walked him through what we would be doing, you could see him settle into his thought about the day 🙂 He just seemed, ready for this day! Time flew by and in a flash, we were off to visit Kim before the ceremony. When we arrived we were greeted by a huge smile as she was getting her hair & makeup done. We also had the privilege of meeting her bridesmaids who all filled the room with jokes, laughter and anticipation of the beautiful day to come. Kim who didn’t get much sleep the night before, effortlessly continued the getting ready tasks of the day and did it all with a calm smile. One thing that always stands out about Kim, is her kindness and how it comes across in the smallest of her actions or words. The time soon came for Kim to step into her dress and she looked flawless in it! She was literally….glowing . We were pretty excited for the rest of the day as Kim & Eric were such a loving couple and we couldn’t wait to see how the plans for the day came together.

Needless to say, we were not disappointed! The ceremony saw tears from the bride as she walked down and the smile on the groom’s face said everything that’s special about weddings. After the traditional catholic ceremony, we headed to the exchange and then to to the “top” of the city to capture some cool shots of just the couple. After having some amazing luck with clouds coming into and out of our frames, we headed to the reception which was being held over at the Victoria Inn Winnipeg. The room was elegantly and expertly decorated by the Madeline’s Weddings & Events team. The evening was filled with special performances from friends and family, touching speeches and just plain, good old fashioned, love!
